The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel comes in four classic colors. There are also genetic variations of these colors. These are called "chocolate" versions. Cavaliers also come in very rare solid black and black & white.
The Cavalier is a loving, affectionate breed that is eager to please. They are overall very friendly and make a wonderful companion to many different types of people. They do well with children, but like any small dog, they are fragile and must be handled with care. Teach your children to be gentle with them, and they will do wonderfully together.
Cavaliers are extremely smart and with consistency, they are easy to train. They are not known to be heavy barkers, however all dogs are different and some do bark more frequently.
The Cavaliers' coat is long and requires frequent brushing to prevent matting. They are medium to high shedding dogs and are not hypoallergenic.
